Il 12 Giugno 2022, un gruppo di 7 Laici Saveriani Filippini ha visitato un tempio Hindu e Sikh a Manila, accompagnati dalla signora Shakun Waswani. Dopo la visita della sala della preghiera, Shakun ha spiegato il significato delle statue e simboli Hindu, oltre a quello dei libri sacri, ai quali i Sikh dedicano una particolare devozione. La signora Shakun ha poi illustrato ai laici saveriani gli insegnamenti fondamentali della religione Hindu. Ne è seguito il pranzo vegetariano insieme ai fedeli presenti per la preghiera della domenica. Shakun Waswani è da anni impegnata nel dialogo interreligioso a Manila, in particolare nel gruppo Peacemakers Circle di cui è cofondatrice. On Sunday, June 12^th, 2022, a group of 7 Filipino Xaverian lay people visited a Hindu and Sikh temple in Manila. They were accompanied by Mrs Shakun Waswani. After a visit to the prayer hall, Mrs Shakun explained the meaning of the statues and Hindu symbols, as well of the sacred books which receive special devotion from the Sikh. Mrs Shakun then illustrated to the lay Xaverians the fundamental teachings of the Hindu religion. Finally, they had a vegetarian lunch which they shared with the faithful that went there to attend Sunday prayer. Mrs Shakun Waswani has been involved in inter-religious dialogue in Manila for several years, especially as part of the Peacemakers Circle which she cofounded. This visit was part of the monthly formation programme of the Filipino lay Xaverians. (Matteo Rebecchi s.x.)
