Condividiamo la testimonianza letta dal Signor Gianpietro Sartorio alla fine delle esequie in suffragio del nostro confratello Fr. Angelo Fumagalli, nel Santuario Conforti della Casa Madre a Parma, giovedì 27 aprile 2023.
Il Signor Giampietro è un Volontario laico al “IV Piano” della Casa Madre da più di 20 anni:
“Per commemorare la vita di Fratel Angelo Fumagalli parto da uno degli insegnamenti di San Guido Conforti il quale afferma : I disegni di Dio sono disegni di bontà e di amore per il fratello, non possono fallire e per questo Gesù lascia su questa terra uomini formati dal suo potere e dalla sua autorità a cui affidare il mandato di continuare l’opera grande da lui iniziata.
…[Fr. Angelo Fumagalli] non era un uomo di grandi omelie, non grandi proclami, non grandi asserzioni, ma un uomo e religioso dallo spirito pratico che con grande umiltà e con grande fatica ha saputo donare se stesso agli altri…Amava il bene concreto, e quella certezza sempre viva a voler vivere la sua vita per gli altri... Ultimamente, pur consapevole della sua malattia, ha continuato il suo lavoro. Gesto energico ma sereno, gesto mai esaltato ma compiuto in punta di piedi…”
Cogliamo l’occasione qui per ringraziare di cuore quanti, come il Signor Giampietro, dedicano il proprio tempo ed energie ad accompagnare i nostri confratelli al IV Piano della Casa Madre e in altre comunità di tutta la Famiglia Saveriana. Attraverso la risposta concreta ad una chiamata, i volontari scelgono di condividere “la missione di prendersi cura dei missionari” con e per i nostri confratelli. Grazie.
Below, we share a written witness which Mr Gianpietro Sartorio read at the end of the funeral for our confrere Br. Angelo Fumagalli, in the Conforti Shrine of the Mother House, Parma, on Thursday, April 27th, 2023.
Mr Gianpietro is a lay volunteer who has been working in the “Fourth Floor” of the Mother House for more than 20 years:
“In order to commemorate the life of Br. Angelo Fumagalli, I will begin by quoting one of St Guido Conforti’s teachings. He stated: God’s plans are plans of goodness and love for the brother; they cannot fail. This is why Jesus left on this earth men that were shaped by his power and authority. To them he entrusted the mission to continue the great work he had started. …
[Br. Angelo Fumagalli] was not a man that delivered great homilies or made great proclamations, or great statements, but a man and a religious of a practical proclivity. With great humbleness and toil, he was able to give up himself for others… He loved concrete good and was always sure about his strong desire to live a life for the others… Recently, though well-aware of his illness, he continued his work. It was something he did with energy, and yet without exaggerations, but always quiet…”
Here, we take the chance to express our sincere thanks to the many who, like Mr Gianpietro, dedicate their time and energy to accompany our confreres of the Four Floor of the Mother House and in other communities of the Xaverian Family. Through a concrete answer to a vocation, these volunteers choose to share “the mission to take care of the missionaries” with and for the confreres. Thank you.
