È il Dott. Gildo Coperchio, sx chi questa settimana scrive a ‘Caro capitolo’. Nelle sue riflessioni, il confratello presenta ai capitolari alcune sfide urgenti per il futuro del nostro Istituto: «… la universalità di una proposta vocazionale che, nata nei suoi valori fondanti alla fine del 1800 ed inizi del 1900, non sembra a mio avviso, essere stata sufficientemente rielaborata o meglio rinnovata con valenze più attuali … e il tema della vecchiaia … e quello ancor più complesso legato alla malattia e alla perdita della propria autosufficienza sia fisica che mentale (deterioramento cognitivo). Non credo di essere fuori argomento nel proporlo in una congregazione che ha il 50% dei membri che possono essere considerati “vecchi” in termini di età!». In Amare la nostra vocazione saveriana, pubblichiamo un video che presenta uno dei modi concreti di vivere e amare la nostra vocazione saveriana nella Circoscrizione del Messico. È stato preparato dai confratelli in Messico e ha come titolo: Evangelizar educando. Nella presentazione leggiamo: «Questo lavoro missionario viene svolto con il supporto degli insegnanti e del personale amministrativo. Il metodo educativo di Mons. Conforti sta plasmando con maggiore intensità il nostro sistema pedagogico. Questa proposta conferisce un'identità umana, religiosa e missionaria molto particolare ai nostri studenti e alle loro famiglie … Camminare con i bambini, gli adolescenti e i giovani verso la costruzione di una Famiglia per il mondo, facendo così che sia conosciuto e amato Nostro Signore Gesù Cristo». Segnaliamo, infine, che nel processo di preparazione del Sinodo “Per una Chiesa sinodale: Comunione, partecipazione e missione”, stiamo presentando da varie settimane alcuni documenti frutto dei lavori di preparazione della fase continentale. It is Dr. Gildo Coperchio, sx who – in this week – is writing to 'Dear Chapter'. In his reflections, the confrere presents to the Chapter members some urgent challenges for the future of our Institute: "... the universality of a vocational proposal which, born in its founding values at the end of the 1800s and the beginning of the 1900s, does not seem to me to have been sufficiently re-elaborated or rather renewed with more current values ... and the theme of old age ... and the even more complex one related to illness and the loss of self-sufficiency, both physical and mental (cognitive deterioration). I do not think I am off topic in proposing this in a Congregation that has 50 per cent of its members who can be considered 'old' in terms of age!" Read more here.

In Loving our Xaverian vocation, we publish a video that presents one of the concrete ways of living and loving our Xaverian vocation in the Circumscription of México. It was prepared by the confreres in Mexico and is entitled: Evangelizar educando. In the presentation we read: «This missionary work is carried out with the support of teachers and administrative staff. The educational method of Bishop Conforti is shaping our pedagogical system with greater intensity. This proposal gives a very special human, religious and missionary identity to our students and their families ... To walk with children, adolescents and young people towards the building of the world as a Family, so that Our Lord Jesus Christ may be known and loved by all».   See here.

Finally, we would like to point out that in the process of preparing the Synod "For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation and Mission", we have been presenting for several weeks some documents that are the fruit of the preparatory work of the continental phase. For the African continent: In Africa, the Synod is on!
