Partecipare al Giubileo dei giovani è stata un'esperienza meravigliosa. Siamo grati di aver avuto la possibilità di partecipare. Abbiamo incontrato giovani da tutto il mondo, venuti con entusiasmo e gioia. Vedere come è stata organizzata la settimana delle attività (incontri culturali, artistici, spirituali, la giornata del Sacramento della Riconciliazione al Circo Massimo con più di 2.000 postazioni…) ci rende orgogliosi come cattolici e missionari.

Sabato 02 agosto, abbiamo trascorso la serata di Veglia a Tor Vergata, condividendo, testimoniando, cantando, danzando e pregando insieme, guidati direttamente da Papa Leone XIV. Nella sua meditazione, Papa Leone XIV ha affermato con convinzione: "…miei giovani fratelli e sorelle, voi siete un segno che un mondo diverso è possibile, un mondo di fratellanza e amicizia dove i conflitti non si risolvono con le armi, ma attraverso il dialogo".

Domenica 03 agosto, sempre a Tor Vergata, Papa Leone ha presieduto l’Eucaristia. Nell’omelia, egli ha sottolineato con forza che:

“…Comprare, ammassare, consumare, non basta. Abbiamo bisogno di alzare gli occhi, di guardare in alto, alle cose di lassù per renderci conto che tutto ha senso, tra le realtà del mondo, solo nella misura in cui serve a unirci a Dio e ai fratelli nella carità, facendo crescere in noi sentimenti di tenerezza, di bontà, di umiltà, di mansuetudine, di magnanimità, di perdono, di pace, come quelli di Cristo…”

 “…La nostra speranza è Gesù. È Lui che suscita in voi il desiderio di fare della vostra vita qualcosa di grande […], per migliorare voi stessi e la società, rendendola più umana e fraterna. Teniamoci uniti a Lui, rimaniamo nella sua amicizia, sempre...”

Participating in the Jubilee of Youth has been a wonderful experience; we are grateful for having been given this opportunity. We met young people from all over the world that came enthusiastically and joyfully. How this week of activities (cultural, artistic and spiritual meetings, the day dedicated to the Sacrament of Reconciliation at the Circo Massimo where 2.000 confessional booths were installed, and so on) was organised makes us proud as Catholic and missionaries. 

On Saturday, August 2^nd, we joined the twilight Vigil in Tor Vergata, where we shared, witnessed, sang, danced and prayed together, under the direct guidance of Pope Leo XIV. In his meditation, Pope Leo confidently told the crowd: “My young brothers and sisters, you are the sign that a different world is possible, a world of fraternity and friendship, where conflicts are not resolved with weapons but with dialogue.”

On Sunday, August 3^rd, still in Tor Vergata, Pope Leo presided over the Mass. In his homily he emphasised that

“Buying, hoarding and consuming are not enough. We need to lift our eyes, to look upwards, to the “things that are above”, to realize that everything in the world has meaning only insofar as it serves to unite us to God and to our brothers and sisters in charity, helping us to grow in “compassion, kindness, humility, meekness and patience”, forgiveness and peace, all in imitation of Christ. …

 Jesus is our hope. It is he […] “who stirs in you the desire to do something great with your lives [...] to commit […] to improving yourselves and society, making the world more human and more fraternal.” Let us remain united to him, let us remain in his friendship, always, …
