In our search for plans and strategies in view of a more fruitful service to our missionary mandate, we cannot overlook the authoritative guidelines given by those who have the task of guiding the Church in the fulfillment of her mission. In his Testament Letter, our Founder says: “The life, strength and prosperity of the Institute will ultimately depend on the spirit of obedience. The Society must strive to become a compact and well-ordered militant force obedient to the orders of the Vicar of Christ, for whom it will always nurture a profound veneration and unconditional loyalty. We will also show sincere devotion to the pastors of the Church, the successors of the Apostles. If this spirit of obedience wanes, the Society would soon be doomed to decline and ruin.” (TL 6)
