As Xaverian Family serving in Indonesia, we just held our Spiritual Exercises which have been led by Fr Shukuru Valentin, sx. Our Annual Retreat had a twofold aim: (1) to explore together the XVII General Chapter's documents (especially the two first documents) as our response to the invitation of the General Direction that asked all the Xaverian Circumscriptions to put these documents on the agenda of their meetings; and (2) to see how these documents can help us to better understand ourselves as Xaverian Missionaries. The different inputs were enriched by moments of personal reflection and prayer and also by the sharing of our life experiences in our struggle to embody our identity and charism. We continue our journey limping, like Jacob (Genesis 32:22-31), but definitely confident that we bring with us a blessing.
