Madrid, 30 Gennaio
I segretari di ciascun gruppo si sono ritrovati per poter formulare un testo definitivo, da sottopporre a tutti i convegnisti, che descrive la realtá dei giovani d’oggi in Europa e Stati Uniti, la conversione che siamo chiamati a vivere nella nostra vita di animatori vocazionali e nelle nostre comunita’ e delle proposte pratiche.
Dopo la lettura in assemblea del documento, si e’ dato spazio agli interventi che hanno messo in risalto che:
- Questo convegno e’ stato diverso da quello del 2004 a San Pietro in Vincoli, perche’ e’ avvenuto in un contesto culturale, sociale, economico e “congregazionale” diverso. Culturale e sociale perche’ il mondo giovanile e’ profondamente diverso, tanto da essere difficile di cogliere tutte le sue sfumature. L’utilizzo del web e dei social network ha completamente stravolto il modo di comunicare. La crisi economica che sta affliggendo l’Europa e gli Stati Uniti era imprevedibile a quel tempo. Infine a livello delle nostre Circoscrizioni non abbiamo piu’ candidati e il numero degli animatori si e’ dimezzato.
- Si propone che alla fine del documento siano precisati ulteriormente le proposte pratiche da assumere e i momenti di verifica delle stesse, attraverso l’aiuto di alcuni responsabili scelti dalle Circoscrizioni che poi coordineranno con p. Antonio Lopez, incaricato DG dell’AMeV.
In chusura, con una celebrazione dell'Eucaristia, abbiamo ringraziato il Signore per questi giorni di fraternità e di ricerca, lasciandoci illuminare dal Vangelo di oggi, Mc. 4,26-34: il seme gettato ha una potenza in sè che non dipende da chi semina; potenza che lo fa capace di diventare albero! A noi, operai della vigna, tocca preparare il terreno... E' quello che si vuol fare con l'AV, creando occasioni perchè i giovani siano terreno buono e disponibile per la semina (cfr. anche il nº51 del XVIº C.G. dove ci si chiede di essere "catalizzatori" per questo incontro tra il giovane e il Signore). Abbiamo ringraziato la Delegazione della Spagna e questa Comunità saveriana di Madrid per l'accoglienza attenta e fraterna, squisitamente 'saveriana'.

The secretaries of each group met to draw up a final document, which was then presented to all the representatives, describing the situation of young people today in Europe and the USA, the conversion that we are call called to live in our life as vocation animators and in our communities and, finally, some practical proposals.
After the document was read in the assembly, we listened to some interventions that emphasized the following points:
- This meeting was different from the previous one that was held in San Pietro in Vincoli (2004) because it took place in a different cultural, social, economic and “Congregational” context. The cultural and social context is new because the world of young people has undergone some radical changes, which makes it difficult to grasp all its nuances. The use of internet and social networks has completely revolutionized the way in which people communicate. Europe and the USA were struck by an unexpected economic crisis and, finally, our Circumscriptions no longer have candidates and we now have half the number of animators.
- The final document should specify further the practical proposals to be undertaken and the times of their evaluation, with the help of some confreres chosen by the Circumscriptions who can coordinate the activity with Fr. Antonio Lopez, the General Direction’s representative for Missionary-Vocation Animation.
During the final Eucharist celebration, we thanked the Lord for these days of fraternity and discernment, and reflected on today’s Gospel of Mark (4:26-34): the sown seed carries an inner power that does not depend on the sower; a power that enables it to become a tree! We, the workers in the vineyard, have the task of preparing the terrain... This is what we aim to do in our Vocation Animation, by creating opportunities for young people to become the good and available terrain for the sowing (cf. also XVI GC 51, which asks us to be the "catalysts" of this encounter between young people and the Lord). We thanked the Delegation of Spain and the Xaverian community of Madrid for the fraternal welcome and typically Xaverian hospitality.
