Sono rientrati dalla Repubblica Democratica del Congo e dall’Indonesia rispettivamente P. Generale e P. Antonio López, P. Vicario e P. Eugenio Pulcini. Il prossimo impegno, il Consiglio di primavera.
REPUBBLICA DEMOCRATICA DEL CONGO
Concludendo il XII Capitolo Regionale, P. Generale ha comunicato che la Congregazione dei Santi ha risposto affirmative sull’opportunità di procedere per la beatificazione dei PP. Luigi Carrara, Giovanni Didonè, Fr. Vittorio Faccin e l’Abbé Joubert.
Il prossimo passo sarà la consultazione dei Vescovi della Regione ecclesiastica da parte del Vescovo di Uvira che dovrà inviare un suo parere scritto alla Congregazione dei santi. Nel frattempo è stato nominato Vice-Postulatore per questa causa P. Faustino Turco.

La situazione è piuttosto tensa: molti dubitano dei risultati elettorali. Tuttavia quando sono stati proclamati, la gente li ha festeggiati con mezzora di spari. Un dato chiaramente positivo è che finalmente i ciadiani parlano di politica, si interessano del governo, dibattono i problemi. Si apre un nuovo scenario anche se il governo tende a reprimere ogni opinione contraria. Pure la radio fatica ad esprimere la sua opinione con libertà. Non mancano le pressioni perchè non si critichi il governo.
MOZAMBICO
Chemba 21 aprile: “Ho fatto Pasqua a Chigonda sotto un grande albero di chanfuta. Seduta attorno, la gente arrivata a piedi o in bicicletta. Gesù a Chigonda è risorto all’ora del tramonto e senza l’energia elettrica … è risorto con i bambini a giocare dietro le mie spalle e con le mamme lì davanti ad allattare … è risorto mentre dal rimorchio di un trattore venivano scaricati i tronchi di misano che il mattino di Pasqua il tir avrebbe trasportato fino a Beira. Però, nonostante tutto, Gesù ha deciso di risorgere anche a Chigonda e risorgendo ha aperto una porta. Quella della vita. Della vita piena, potente e debordante” (Baba Andrea).

At the end of the XII Regional Chapter, the Superior General announced that the Congregation for the Causes of Saints has given an affirmative response to setting in motion the Cause of Beatification of Frs. Luigi Carrara, Giovanni Didonè, Br. Vittorio Faccin and Abbé Joubert. The bishop of Uvira will now hold a consultation with the bishops of the ecclesiastical region and then send his written opinion to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints. In the meantime, Fr. Faustino Turco has been appointed Vice-Postulator of this Cause.

CHAD
The situation is tense and many have doubts about the electoral results, though their announcement was met by celebrations among the people. One very positive element is the fact that the people are finally speaking about politics and showing an interest in the process of government and debating problems. A new scenario is opening, though the government continues to repress critical opinions. The radio finds it difficult to broadcast its opinions freely and pressure is put upon it not to criticize the government in any way.
MOZAMBIQUE
Chemba 21 April: “I celebrated Easter under a large chanfuta tree, surrounded by people who had come on foot or by bicycle. Jesus rose from the dead in Chigonda at sundown and without electricity … he rose from the dead as the children played behind me and as the mothers breast-fed their babies … he rose from the dead as a trailer was unloading the tree trunks that would be taken to Beira on Easter morning. In spite of everything, Jesus decided to rise from the dead in Chigonda too and, by rising, he has opened the door to a powerful and abundant life” (Baba Andrea).
