Il Consiglio Generale, iniziato il 2 maggio, sarà interrotto il giorno 11 e riprenderà ai primi di giugno.
THAILANDIA
“Bangkok: inizia il 9 Maggio la presenza dei Saveriani nella capitale, in una casa della diocesi, ai margini del più grande quartiere povero della città. Con l’ambizione di concretizzare così lo stile di missione proposto dall’ultimo Capitolo Generale: una presenza di semplicità, di vicinanza alla gente e di testimonianza nelle grandi periferie del mondo.
I padri cercheranno prima di conoscere la realtà, aiutando la scuola cattolica e i centri già presenti, visitando nelle loro case la gente, per lo più buddista, e accompagnando i pochi cristiani che vi ci abitano. Con il desiderio di aiutare molti a conoscere Cristo.
MOZAMBICO
A Chemba il 2016 è un anno di siccità e di fame. Qualche temporale alla fine di marzo, non è stato sufficiente per salvare i raccolti.
Il mais, più volte seminato tra dicembre e febbraio, è totalmente seccato. Ora si spera con il sorgo. Si spera con poche speranze, perché la prossima pioggia, arriverà a novembre.
Soffrire per la siccità a due passi da uno dei più grandi fiumi del mondo!
La gente incomincia a cibarsi di radici e frutti selvatici che non riempiono certo lo stomaco.
Ci sentiamo impotenti con questo flagello. Risulta persino difficile visitare le comunità. Tutti a Sena, Charre e Chemba ti ricevono con lo stesso lamento:”Njala Padre” (Abbiamo fame).
BRASILE SUD
P. Maestro informa che a Hortolândia, durante la messa della comunità, il 05 maggio hanno iniziato ufficialmente l'anno canonico del Noviziato tre postulanti provenienti dal Paraná, dal Pará e dall’Amazonas. Bon cammino!

THAILAND
Bangkok, 9 May: the Xaverians will open a community in the capital city, in a house that belongs to the diocese, on the outskirts of the city’s largest poor district. Our confreres thus hope to fulfil the missionary style proposed by the last General Chapter: a simple presence close to the people and a witness on the great outskirts of the world.
The confreres will try to get to know the situation, by helping the already existing Catholic school and centers, visiting the people (most of whom are Buddhists) in their homes, and accompanying the few Christians who live there. With the desire to help many people to know Christ.
MOZAMBIQUE
Chemba: 2016 is turning out to be a year of drought and hunger. A few thunderstorms at the end of March were not enough to save the crops. The corn that was repeatedly sown between December and February has totally dried out. The people place their hope in sorghum, but this hope is faint because the next rainfall will arrive in November.
Drought is afflicting an area close to one of the greatest rivers in the world!
The people are beginning to eat roots and wild fruits, but these do not quell the pangs of hunger. We feel helpless and it is even difficult to visit the communities. Everyone in Sena, Charre and Chemba welcome us with the same cry:”Njala Padre” (We are hungry, father).
SOUTH BRAZIL
Hortolândia, 5 May: the canonical year of Novitiate began with three Postulants from Paraná, Pará and Amazonas. Bon cammino!
