“UN’ESPERIENZA AFFASCINANTE DI TESTIMONIANZA E ANNUNCIO…”
Sono trascorsi già 60 anni da quando ho emesso la prima professione religiosa e missionaria a Nizza Monferrato nelle mani del Superiore Generale p. Giovanni Castelli. Il nostro p. Maestro è stato p. Francesco Cavallo sx.
Ringrazio il Signore per tutti questi anni vissuti nella famiglia missionaria saveriana. Sono grato al Signore per i 36 anni di missione vissuti in Sierra Leone. Un'esperienza affascinante nel lavoro di primo annuncio e testimonianza in varie comunità parrocchiali; nell’aiuto ai più poveri e in particolare ai molti ragazzi ciechi che ho accompagnato a diventare discepoli del Signore Gesù. Vari di loro sono diventati dei bravi insegnanti, capaci di vera formazione per tanti ragazzi e ragazze delle scuole elementari e medie.
Grazie, Signore, per il dono della fede e della fiducia nel tuo Amore e nella tua fedeltà alle Promesse. Ti lodo per il dono della tua incessante misericordia, del tuo perdono, della consacrazione missionaria ad gentes e del presbiterato. Ti rendo grazie per i tanti incontri vissuti in questi 60 anni attraverso i quali hai voluto formare la mia vita di figlio e fratello. (Antonio Guiotto sx)

60TH ANNIVERSARY OF FIRST RELIGIOUS AND MISSIONARY PROFESSION (JANUARY 1ST, 1963)
“A FASCINATING EXPERIENCE OF WITNESS AND PROCLAMATION…”
60 years have already passed since, in Nizza Monferrato, I made my first religious and missionary profession in the hands of then Superior General, Fr. Giovanni Castelli. Our Master of novices was Fr. Francesco Cavallo s.x.
I thank the Lord for all these years I lived in the Xaverian missionary family. I am grateful to the Lord for the 36 years of mission I spent in Sierra Leone. To work for the first proclamation and to witness in various parish communities, as well as to help out the poorest and especially many blind children, whom I accompanied till they became disciples of the Lord Jesus, have been a fascinating experience. Many of them later became good teachers, who have been able to provide many young boys and girls in elementary and middle schools with a good education.
Thank you, Lord, for the gift of faith and trust in your Love, and for your fidelity to the promises you made. I praise you for the gift of your unceasing mercy, your forgiveness, the missionary consecration ad gentes and priesthood. I thank you for the many encounters I made over the past 60 years: through those encounters you wanted to shape my life as a son and brother. (Antonio Guiotto s.x.)
