“VIVERE NELLA RICONOSCENZA AL SIGNORE E ALL’ISTITUTO…”
Mi sento come su un ponte dove l’acqua del torrente sotto corre velocemente. Molta acqua è già passata, altra acqua corre sotto i miei piedi e non so quanta ne vedrò arrivare ancora. Cerco di vivere nella riconoscenza i miei 60 anni di professione missionaria. Sono contento del mio passato, nonostante le fragilità e le omissioni, e dico grazie al Signore e all’Istituto. Desidero solo di purificare da egoismi il servizio fatto, perché sia un’Offerta a Dio e un per-dono a quanti ho incontrato. Faccio mia la preghiera di Don Tonino Bello: “Santa Maria, donna dell’ultima ora, disponici al grande viaggio. Aiutaci ad allentare gli ormeggi, senza paura… Mettici in regola le carte, perché giunti alla porta del paradiso, essa si spalanchi al nostro bussare.” (Giuseppino Dovigo sx)

60TH ANNIVERSARY OF MISSIONARY CONSECRATION (JANUARY 1ST 1963)
“TO LIVE IN THANKSGIVING TO THE LORD AND THE INSTITUTE…”
I feel like a bridge under which water runs quickly. Much water has already flowed away, other is flowing under my feet and I do not know how much more will I see flowing down. I try to live my 60 years of missionary profession in thanksgiving. Despite frailties and sins of omission, I am happy about my past. I say thank you to the Lord and the Institute. I only wish to purify myself and remove all sorts of selfishness from the service I carried out, so that it may be an Offering to God and “for-giving” to all those I have met. I would like pray with words by Don Tonino Bello: “Holy Mary, woman of the last hour, prepare us for the great journey. Help us slip the moorings, without fear… Put in order our documents, so that once we have reached and knocked at the gate of Paradise, it may open wide its door.” (Giuseppino Dovigo s.x.)
