Il bollettino “FlashSX RD Congo” dedica tutto il numero 199 del 10 novembre 2022, alla figura di Mons. Danilo Catarzi sx, primo vescovo di Uvira (1962-1981). Al centro della prima pagina viene ritratto il volto del confratello, la sua firma autografa e il suo motto episcopale: “In te Domine confido”.

L’anno scorso era stata organizzata dai cristiani di Uvira una campagna di raccolta di firme per chiedere il rimpatrio delle spoglie del loro primo vescovo. Un desiderio condiviso e sostenuto dall’attuale vescovo Mons. Sébastien Joseph Muyengo Mulombe: “Abbiamo un dovere di memoria verso quanti abbiamo conosciuto come genitori, maestri, pastori, etc., soprattutto verso coloro che ci hanno indicato il cammino della vita attraverso l’annuncio del Vangelo…” 

Martedì 22 novembre 2022, accompagnata dal postulatore generale, p. Faustino Turco sx, la salma del primo vescovo d’Uvira arriverà nella Repubblica Democratica del Congo. Dopo una veglia di preghiera presso la Cattedrale di Uvira, mercoledì 23 novembre 2022, seguirà l’inumazione delle spoglie a Kavimvira, chiesa costruita ex voto dopo la liberazione dalla cattività a Uvira del proprio vescovo, confratelli, religiose e laici, nel 1964 durante la ribellione mulelista.

The D.R. Congo SXFlash dedicates the entire issue n. 199 (November 10^th, 2022) to the personality of Msgr. Danilo Catarzi s.x., first bishop of Uvira (1962-1981). The first page publishes a portrait of this confrere with his signature and episcopal motto “In te, Domine, confido”.

Last year, the Christians of Uvira organised a collection of signatures to request the repatriation of the mortal remains of their first bishop. This wish was shared and supported also by their present bishop, Msgr. Sébastien Joseph Muyengo Mulombe: “We have the duty to keep the memory of those whom we met as parents, teachers, shepherds, etc., and especially of those who, by preaching the Gospel, indicated to us the path of life.”

On Tuesday, November 22^nd, 2022, accompanied by General Postulator, Fr. Faustino Turco, the body of the first bishop of Uvira will arrive in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. After a vigil of prayer in the Cathedral of Uvira, on Wednesday, November 23^rd, 2022, the remains of the bishop will be laid to rest in the church of Kavinvira which was built as an ex voto after the liberation - from captivity in Uvira - of its bishop, confreres, religious and lay people, in 1964, during the Mulelist rebellion.
