“…ascoltando ieri (19.01.22 nrd), alle 19.01, il radiogiornale di Radio Vaticana, ho apprezzato l'intervista al card. Comaschi che, pensando alla Settimana per l’Unità dei Cristiani, ricorda uno scambio fra San Paolo VI e il suo amico Giuseppe Prezzolini, giornalista. Un giorno San Paolo VI chiese a Prezzolini: “Lei che si definisce lontano dalla Chiesa, mi dia un consiglio per avvicinare i lontani”. Prezzolini gli rispose: “Se volete avvicinare i lontani, preparate persone veramente buone, senza orgoglio, perché l’intelligenza suscita ammirazione, la cultura strappa applausi, ma soltanto la bontà entra nel cuore delle persone. Preparate persone buone e saprete dialogare con tutti”.

Certo, alla luce del Vangelo, l'educazione del cuore è ciò che ci avvicina ai ‘lontani’ e ci mette in posizione di dialogo anche con i più ‘divisi’. (dal messaggio di un confratello impegnato nella formazione missionaria).

“…yesterday (January 19^th, 2022 - ed.), I listened to the news bulletin of Vatican Radio and appreciated the interview with Card. Comaschi. While thinking of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, he recalled an exchange between St Paul VI and his friend, the journalist Giuseppe Prezzolini. On one occasion, St Paul VI asked Prezzolini: ‘Since you describe yourself as being far from the Church, please, give me an advice on how to get closer to the ones who are far away.’ Prezzolini answered: ‘If you want to the get closer to those who are far away, prepare people that are really good and without pride, for intelligence wins admiration, broad knowledge draws applause, but only goodness enters people’s heart. Prepare good persons and you’ll be able to dialogue with all.’

Certainly, in the light of the Gospel, educating the heart is what allows us to get closer to the ‘distant ones’ and places us in the position of dialogue even with the most ‘divisive’ individuals. (From the message of a confrere involved in missionary formation).
