Durante la quarantena vissuta al secondo piano della casa Generalizia, p. Antonio Germano sx ha accolto con animo generoso l’invito a scrivere alcuni pensieri personali sulla Lettera Testamento. Si tratta di una riflessione breve ed essenziale: “L’anno giubilare è ormai terminato, ma il voto mirabilmente espresso al numero 10 dovrà risuonare con maggiore forza dentro ciascuno di noi e la Caritas Christi dovrà spronarci con rinnovato ardore ed entusiasmo verso un’azione missionaria adeguata ai tempi che viviamo”. P. Antonio ha trascorso 44 anni in Bangladesh, la maggior parte dei quali vissuti con i fuoricasta. Dopo le vacanze ritornerà a Chucknagar per continuare con passione e gratitudine il suo impegno missionario.
Segnaliamo il nuovo contributo di p. Ceresoli sx: “Regolamento e Testamento. Due scritti per una spiritualità missionaria”. Scrive l’autore nella introduzione: “Nel mio “spigolare” nel fertile e fecondo terreno della Lettera Testamento (LT), ho lasciato risuonare la domanda: è vero, come qualcuno sostiene, che il Conforti non diede indicazioni per la vita missionaria dei saveriani?” P. Ceresoli rilegge insieme i due testi commemorati in quest’anno giubilare: la quinta Lettera Circolare (Lettera Testamento) e le Costituzioni del 1921 e conclude: «La LT è una “circolare”, la quinta, sulla missione, sull’atteggiamento di fondo del missionario. Nelle Costituzioni del 1921 incontriamo un significativo ed efficace cammino di santità, e insieme la proposta per una scuola di spiritualità missionaria. E nella Lettera Testamento un’indicazione di metodo, il metodo».
Fr. Antonio Germano s.x. has kindly accepted the invitation to write down some personal thoughts on the Testament Letter while in quarantine on the second floor of the General House. His is a brief and essential reflection: The jubilee year is about to end, but the wish so beautifully expressed in TL 10 must echo more strongly within each of us; and the Love of Christ (Caritas Christi) must spur us on with renewed zeal and enthusiasm towards a missionary action that is up to the times we are living in. Fr. Antonio has been in Bangladesh for 44 years and spent most of this time by living among the outcast. After his vacations, he will return to Chucknagar to continue his missionary commitment with passion and gratitude.
We point out the new commentary of Fr. Alfiero Ceresoli, sx: “Regolamento e Testamento. Two writings for a missionary spirituality”. The author begins in this way: «In my “gleaning" in the fertile and fruitful soil of the Testament Letter (TL), I let one question resound: is it true, as some Xaverians think, that Conforti gave no indications for the missionary life of the Xaverians?» Fr. Ceresoli rereads together the two main texts remembered in this Jubilee year, the Fifth Circular Letter (Testament Letter) and the Constitutions of 1921 and concludes: "The TL is a "circular" letter, the fifth one, on mission, on the fundamental attitude of the missionary. In the Constitutions of 1921, we find a significant and effective path of holiness and, at the same time, the proposal for a school of missionary spirituality; and in the Testament Letter an indication about method, the method».
