Ed in questo momento, cui sento tutta la soavità della carità di Cristo, di gran lunga più forte d’ogni affetto naturale, e tutta mi si affaccia la grandezza della causa che ci stringe in una sola famiglia, abbraccio con effusione di cuore, come se fossero qui presenti, quanti hanno dato il nome al pio nostro Sodalizio e quanti saranno per darglielo in seguito… (Lettera Testamento n. 11)

Right now, as I feel the love of Christ in all its fullness, a love by far superior to any natural affection, and I see clearly the greatness of the cause that unites us in a single family, I warmly embrace the present and future members of our Society, as if they were here present.
