La Famiglia saveriana di Salerno, prima della diaspora estiva, ha voluto regalarsi una giornata di gioiosa convivenza nella oasi del fiume Alento, dove la macchia mediterranea e il bosco di latifoglie si mescola con arbusteti e canneti, praterie e piante da frutto. Uno spazio ideale per un picnic. È stato difficile capire se fossero più gustose le pietanze, portate da casa, o lo stare insieme di una trentina di adulti (religiosi/e e laici saveriani) che avevano voglia di parlarsi finalmente senza mascherine o i giochi dei sei vivacissimi bambini. Ospite graditissima della gita è stata la famiglia ucraina che da quattro mesi vive nella nostra casa. In questo difficile periodo di transizione c’è un grande bisogno di riallacciare legami fraterni. (Rosario Giannattasio sx) 

Before the Summer dispersion, the Xaverian family of Salerno wanted to give itself a day of joyful time together in the oasis of River Alento. The place is a mixture of Maquis Shrub-land, deciduous forest, reed beds, prairie and fruit trees: an ideal place for picnicking. Difficult to say what was more delightful: was it the dishes taken from home or the fact that around thirty adults (men and women religious and Xaverian laity) were staying together, finally chatting without having to wear surgical masks, or the games of six extremely lively children? The Ukrainian family that has been living in our house for the last four months has been a very much welcomed guest of the outing. We are all going through a difficult period of transition and there is a strong need to re-establish brotherly ties. (Rosario Giannattasio s.x.)
