“Va dona la vita”. Ecco la sintesi del programma di vita che le nostre tre consorelle
Olga Raschietti (83 anni), Lucia Pulici (75) e Bernardetta Boggian (79) hanno cercato di vivere nel loro cammino vocazionale e missionario. L’anniversario della loro morte violenta (7 e 8 settembre 2014), per noi Missionarie di Maria, Saveriane significa celebrare il trionfo della vita, della vita donata a Dio per i fratelli sino alla fine. Il loro martirio significa riconoscere e celebrare la fedeltà del Signore anche nelle situazioni più tristi e oscure che ci colpiscono all’improvviso. La testimonianza di Olga, Lucia e Bernadetta rimane per noi Missionarie di Maria, Saveriane, e anche per chi le ha conosciute, un testamento umano e saveriano vivente: donare la propria vita nella semplicità del quotidiano, con un sorriso, uno sguardo attento che accoglie tutti senza giudicare, una mano tesa a chi è più fragile, una parola autentica e semplice, detta con il fervore della fede nel Signore Gesù. Una vita che intende celebrare la “Gloria”, e cioè il “peso”, la presenza costante di Dio nella vita di tutti i suoi figli e figlie, e portare speranza a chi si sente solo, lontano, povero e rifiutato.
Non è forse questo quanto il Signore ci ha detto? “In verità, in verità io vi dico “se il chicco di grano, caduto in terra, non muore, rimane solo; se invece muore, produce molto frutto.” Gv 12, 24. Ecco allora che possiamo ringraziare il Signore per la Sua fedeltà nella vita delle nostre sorelle e nella vita di tanti altri missionari che hanno accettato di morire affinché il Regno di Dio, regno di amore e di giustizia, fiorisca sulla terra. “Go and offer your life”: this is a summary of the life plan that our three sisters – Olga Raschietti (83), Lucia Pulici (75) and Bernardetta Boggian (79) – tried to live out in their vocational and missionary journey. For us Xaverian sisters Missionaries of Mary, commemorating the anniversary of their violent death (September 7th and 8th, 2014) means celebrating the triumph of life – a life given to God in service to our brothers and sisters until the very end. Through their martyrdom, they acknowledged and celebrated the Lord’s faithfulness even in the most sad and obscure situations which may suddenly hit us.
For us Xaverian Sisters - Missionaries of Mary, and for those who knew them, the witness of Olga, Lucia, and Bernadetta remains a living human and Xaverian testament: a call to give one’s life in the simplicity of daily existence, with a smile, an attentive gaze that welcomes everyone without judgment, a hand extended to those who are most vulnerable, and an authentic and simple word, spoken with the fervour that springs from faith in the Lord Jesus. This is a life that celebrates the “Glory” – that is, the “weight”, the constant presence of God in the existence of his children – and brings hope to those who are alone, far, poor and rejected.
Is this not what the Lord told us? “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit” (John 12:24). We therefore have every reason to thank the Lord for His faithfulness in the lives of our sisters and in those of many other missionaries who were willing to lay down their lives so that the kingdom of God – a kingdom of love and justice – might flourish on earth.
