The Kayapò inhabit the Amazon rainforest of Brazil. They live in 17 circular villages, placing great importance on festivals, dance, ancestors, and their birth as a people. They are distinguished by their body painting, feather art, and handicrafts.
We Xaverians have been present among the Kayapò for decades. We remember the passion of Father Renato Trevisan, who dedicated nearly forty years of his life among the Kayapò, who remember him as "Wayangare – He who speaks with the spirits." We also highlight our Xaverian Museum in Parma: with over 500 exhibits, it is one of the richest European institutions housing the spectacular artifacts of this people.
In this "quiz game" we propose some questions to stimulate further, deeper understanding of this wonderful people, the Kayapò of the Amazon, Brazil.
