Venerdì 25 gennaio 2023 il Dicastero per gli Istituti di Vita Consacrata e le Società di Vita Apostolica, ha inviato a tutti i consacrati e consacrate una lettera in preparazione alla Giornata della Vita Consacrata (02 febbraio 2023). Nel messaggio si legge che si tratta di una giornata di gratitudine per l’immensa grazia di essere chiamati ad essere “memoria vivente del modo di esistere e di agire di Gesù” (VC n.22). In questa giornata, che unisce tutte le comunità di vita consacrata sparse nel mondo, si chiede ancora la Lettera: invochiamo con forza e frequenza lo Spirito, chiediamo di riaccendere nei nostri cuori il fuoco missionario, lo zelo apostolico, la passione per Cristo e per l’umanità? Ci sentiamospinti a “parlare di ciò che abbiamo visto e udito”? Sentiamo la nostalgia di Cristo? Soffriamo e rischiamo in sintonia con il suo cuore pastorale? Siamo disposti ad allargare la nostra tenda, a camminare insieme? E soprattutto chiediamoci: è la Persona di Gesù, i suoi sentimenti, la sua compassione, ad appassionare i nostri cuori?

“ENLARGING THE SPACE OF THE TENT”: A LETTER FOR THE 27TH WORLD DAY FOR CONSECRATED LIFE
On Friday, January 25th, 2023, the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life sent a letter to all consecrated men and women to prepare for World Day for Consecrated Life (February 2nd, 2023). The message describes the event as a day of thanksgiving for the immense grace of our vocation to be “a living memorial of Jesus' way of living and acting” (VC, 22). In such a day, when all communities of consecrated life around the world are united in prayer, the Letter asks: Do we powerfully and frequently invoke the Spirit and ask him to rekindle in our hearts a missionary fire, apostolic zeal, passion for Christ and for humanity? Are we impelled to “speak of what we have seen and heard”? Do we feel a longing for Christ? Do we suffer and risk in harmony with his pastoral heart? Are we willing to “widen our tent,” to walk together? Above all, we ask ourselves: is it the Person of Jesus, his feelings, his compassion, that excites our hearts?
