La circoscrizione Saveriana del Brasile Nord si è ritrovata insieme per la consueta Assemblea annuale, dal 04 al 08 gennaio 2022 ad Ananindeua (Pará), nella Casa De Retiro Dos Jesuítas De Nossa Senhora De Lourdes. Il tema dell’ incontro è stato: “A saúde dos xaverianos no Brasil Norte”. (La salute dei Saveriani del Brasile Nord). L’assemblea si inserisce all’interno del Progetto di Vita della Circoscrizione 2020-2023. Il Progetto chiedeva infatti di interrogarsi su che “cosa possiamo fare per dare una risposta ai bisogni e alle urgenze individuate nella nostra realtà alla luce della nostra speranza e della nostra fede? …Di fronte alla cultura relativista che spinge le persone a trattare gli altri come un semplice oggetto da scartare o abbandonare quando non serve più o non risponde ai propri bisogni, ci proponiamo di valorizzare i confratelli anziani o malati, cercando comunità e spazi pastorali che corrispondano alle loro condizioni. Ci impegniamo ad offrire spazi di servizio adeguati alla Casa Regionale, consultando professionisti e confratelli per fornire quanto sia più necessario e opportuno…”. (Pedro Saúl Ruiz Álvarez sx)

The Xaverian circumscription of Northern Brazil gathered for its yearly Assembly from January 4^th to 8^th, 2022, in Ananindeua (Pará), at the Casa De Retiro Dos Jesuítas De Nossa Senhora De Lourdes. Theme of the meeting was: “The Health of the Xaverians in Northern Brazil”. This Assembly was part of the Circumscription Project of Life 2020-2023. The Project required that we question ourselves on “what we can do, in the light of our hope and faith, to meet the necessities and urgent needs we discover in our reality (…). Over against a relativistic culture that drives people to treat others like mere objects to be wasted or abandoned once they become useless, we are determined to value our elderly or sick confreres. To this purpose, we will look for communities and places of ministry suitable to their conditions. We also commit ourselves to offer spaces of service appropriate for the Regional House, by consulting experts and confreres so as to provide whatever is necessary and suitable…” (Pedro Saúl Ruiz Álvarez s.x.)
