I Magi hanno provato una grande gioia quando hanno visto il bambino Gesù. La gioia da loro provata non è diversa da quella che sperimentiamo noi oggi in missione. L’incontro vissuto con la comunità cristiana nella parrocchia di Santa Rita de Cássia a Ourilândia do Norte, nel sud del Pará è stato per me un prezioso dono natalizio. Sono arrivato a Ourilândia il 23 dicembre 2021 e il 24/12 di notte sono andato con il parroco p. Joanes La Nike sx a celebrare il Natale nelle comunità e siamo rimasti con le Comunità Ecclesiali di Base fino al 27/12, dove abbiamo potuto visitare e celebrare in dieci centri. La parrocchia di S. Rita de Cássia è composta da 34 comunità e la comunità più lontana dista circa 175 km. I tre frutti di questa esperienza:  1) il servizio e la dedizione totale dei confratelli nella missione in questa regione, insieme alle grandi sfide che affrontano quotidianamente; 2) la gioia delle persone incontrate nelle varie comunità. Ogni comunità ha le sue caratteristiche e peculiarità. Ho notato che in alcune c'è una maggiore partecipazione e coinvolgimento delle persone nelle attività comunitarie che in altre; 3) la fraternità tra i Saveriani. Desidero ringraziare i confratelli Joanes La Nike sx e Luigi Anzalone sx che mi hanno accolto con cuore aperto nella mia prima esperienza di missione, e mi hanno dato l'opportunità di visitare i confratelli delle altre parrocchie: la comunità parrocchiale di N.S. Aparecida a Tucumã e la comunità parrocchiale di São Félix do Xingu.

Sento una profonda gratitudine a Dio per l'opportunità di stare con i confratelli così come con le comunità. Le sfide sono tante, tuttavia ciò che mi motiva a continuare a vivere il dono della missione, e che ha motivato fin dall’inizio il nostro fondatore San Guido Maria Conforti è quello di formare una sola famiglia in Cristo che abbracci l’umanità. The Magi were filled with delight at the sight of the infant Jesus. Their joy is not different from the one we experience today in mission. The meeting I had with the Christian community of St Rita de Cássia Parish in Ourilândia do Norte in Southern Pará has been for me a precious Christmas gift. I arrived in Ourilândia on December 23^rd 2021, and during the night of the following day, the parish priest Fr. Joanes La Nike s.x. and I went to celebrate Christmas in the communities. We remained with the Basic Ecclesial Communities till December 27^th, and during that period we could visit and celebrate in ten centres. St Rita de Cássia Parish consists of 34 communities, among which the most remote is located at about 175 km away. Three the fruits gathered from this experience: 1) the confreres’ service and complete dedication to the mission in this region, a place replete with great daily challenges; 2) the joy of the people we met in the various communities. Each community has unique traits and qualities. I noticed that in some there is greater participation in community activities than in others; 3) the fraternity among the Xaverians. I wish to thank my confreres Joanes La Nike s.x. and Luigi Anzalone s.x. who whole-heartedly welcomed me in my very first missionary experience and gave me the opportunity to visit the confreres in other parishes: the parish community of N.S. Aparecida in Tucumã and the parish community of São Félix do Xingu.

I am deeply grateful to God for the opportunity to stay both with my confreres and with the Christian communities. There are many challenges, but what motivates me to continue to live out the gift of mission, which is also what motivated our Founder St Guido Maria Conforti from the very beginning, is the ideal of forming one single Christian family embracing all humanity.
