La scorsa domenica, 20 ottobre 2024, nella nostra piccola parrocchia di San Francesco Saverio, la comunità dei fedeli si è radunata festosamente attorno all’Arcivescovo, Sua Grazia Mons. Tommaso Zhong An Zhu, per una Messa di ringraziamento. Abbiamo ringraziato, e continuiamo a ringraziare il Signore, perché la Chiesa ha proclamato Beati i Saveriani fratel Vittorio Faccin, p. Luigi Carrara, p. Giovanni Didonè e il sacerdote diocesano Abbè Albert Joubert, martiri per la fede.

La celebrazione, a cui è seguita una semplice agape fraterna offerta a tutti, ci ha dato nuovo entusiasmo per continuare a testimoniare Cristo nelle diverse situazioni in cui viviamo, situazioni spesso di “martirio bianco”, in cui occorre coraggio per essere fedeli alla vocazione cristiana e per far conoscere, senza paura, l’unico Salvatore del mondo.

A Taiwan vive un anziano padre Camilliano, Giuseppe Didonè. Ci ha fatto sapere la sua gioia e l’onore che ha sentito, non solo per portare lo stesso cognome di p. Giovanni, ma anche per essere nato nella sua via, quasi di fronte alla sua casa. (Fabrizio Tosolini sx)

Last Sunday, October 20, 2024, in St. Francis Xavier church, our small parish, the community of the faithful gathered joyfully around the Archbishop, His Grace Monsignor Tommaso Zhong An Zhu, for a Mass of Thanksgiving. We thanked and continue to thank the Lord because the Church has proclaimed Blessed the Xaverians Bro. Vittorio Faccin, Fr Luigi Carrara, Fr Giovanni Didonè and the diocesan priest Abbè Albert Joubert, martyrs for the faith in Jesus.

The celebration, which was followed by a simple fraternal agape offered to all, gave us new enthusiasm to continue to bear witness to Christ in the different situations in which we live. They are situations often of “white martyrdom”, in which courage is needed to be faithful to the Christian vocation and to make known, without fear, Jesus, as the only Savior of all.

In Taiwan lives an elderly Camillian Father, Fr Giuseppe Didonè. He told us of his joy and the honor he felt, not only for having the same surname as Fr. Giovanni, but also for being born on his street, almost in front of his house. (Fabrizio Tosolini s.x.)
