Verso le ore 19:00 del 27 marzo 2020, dopo lunga malattia, è morto a Parma, in Casa Madre, il P. Francesco Cesare Grasso. Aveva 85 anni, essendo nato a Priverno (Latina – IT) il 12.07.1934.
Nel 1947 il giovane Cesare entra nella casa saveriana di Udine. Qui inizia la scuola media (1947-1949), che poi completa ad Ancona (1949-1951). Dopo gli studi ginnasiali a Zelarino (1951-1953) Cesare va S. Pietro in Vincoli per l’anno di noviziato.
Dopo la Prima Professione religiosa-missionaria (fatta il 12.09.1954), il giovane Cesare continua con il consueto iter scolastico-formativo: liceo a Desio (1954-1957), prefettato ad Ancona (1957-1958), teologia a Parma (1958-1962).
Viene ordinato Presbitero a Parma il 15.10.1961.
Finiti gli studi di teologia, p. Cesare viene destinato alla Scuola Apostolica di Udine come insegnante (1962-1963).
Nel luglio del 1963 p. Cesare parte per il Messico. Qui viene destinato a San Juan del Río (1963-1966) dove, dopo un anno di studio della lingua, è impegnato nel ministero. In seguito viene mandato all’ICO di Mazatlán, come insegnante (1966-1974).
Dopo un anno di aggiornamento a Roma (1974-1975) p. Cesare rientra in Messico dove presta servizio come Vice parroco a San Juan del Río (1975-1978), e poi ancora a Mazatlán come insegnante (1978-1979).
Dopo una breve parentesi in Colombia, a Buenaventura, impegnato nel ministero (1979-1980), p. Cesare ritorna in Messico: insegnante a Mazatlán (1980-1988), insegnamento e ministero ad Arandas (1988-1990).
Dopo un periodo di riposo-aggiornamento in Italia, p. Cesare ritorna a Mazatlán come vice rettore ed insegnante (1991-1995).
Nel 1995 p. Cesare lascia il Messico. Dopo qualche mese passato a Taranto, viene destinato alla Spagna, dove lavora come animatore missionario per la comunità della casa regionale di Madrid (1995-1997).
Rientrato definitivamente in Italia nel 1997, svolge il suo ministero a Taranto (1997-2003), a Parma (2003-2004), a Genova-Pegli (2004-2008), e Ancona (gennaio-ottobre 2008).
Necessitando di cure mediche, nell’ottobre del 2008, p. Cesare viene trasferito a Parma.
Il 27 marzo 2020, p. Cesare viene ammesso a partecipare alla Liturgia Celeste nella gioia senza fine.

Fr. Francesco Cesare Grasso after a long illness, died in the Mother House of Parma, at about 7:00 pm, on March 27th, 2020. He was born in the town of Priverno (Latina-IT) on July 12th, 1934, and was now 85 years old.
In 1947 the young Cesare entered the Xaverian House of Udine. Here he began middle school (1947-1949) and completed it in the city of Ancona (1949-1951). After having continued with his studies in the town of Zelarino, Venice (1951-1953), Cesare went to S. Pietro in Vincoli for the Novitiate Year.
After the celebration of his First Religious Missionary Profession (September 12th, 1954) continued with his education and formation: College Studies in Desio (1954-1957); Prefect of Students in the Xaverian House of Ancona; Theology in Parma (1958-1962).
Fr. Francesco Cesare Grasso was ordained Priest in Parma on October 15th, 1961.
After Ordination, Fr. Cesare was assigned to the Xaverian Seminary House of Udine as teacher (1962-1963).
In July 1963, Fr. Francesco Cesare Grasso left for Mexico. Assigned to the Xaverian Community of San Juan del Rio (1963-1966), there he spent his first year studying the local language, and being engaged later on in Ministry and mission education. Later, he was assigned to the ICO in the city of Mazatlán as teacher (1966-1974).
After a year of updating in the city of Rome (1974-1975), Fr. Francesco Cesare Grasso returned to Mexico where he served as Assistant Parish Priest in San Juan del Río (1975-1978), and then, again, in Mazatlán as teacher (1978-1979).
After a brief presence in Colombia, in the city of Buenaventura, engaged in ministry (1979-1980), Fr. Cesare returned to Mexico. Served as teacher in Mazatlán (1980-1988), teacher and mission ministry in the town of Arandas (1988-1990).
After a period of rest-updating in Italy, Fr. Francesco Cesare Grasso returned to the ICO in Mazatlán as Vice-Rector and teacher (1991-1995).
In the year 1995, Fr. Cesare left Mexico and spent few months of rest in the city of Taranto. His Superiors asked him to offer his services and talents to the Xaverians working in Spain. He was asked to minister as missionary educator in the Xaverian Regional House of Madrid (1995-1997).
In the year 1997, Fr. Cesare Grasso returned to Italy. He was active in ministry in the city of Taranto (1997-2003), in Parma (2003-2004), Genova-Pegli (2004-2008), and in the city of Ancona (January-October 2008).
In the month of October 2008, because of health problems, Fr. Francesco Cesare Grasso was transferred to the Mother House in Parma.
On March 27th, 2020, Fr. Francesco Cesare Grasso was admitted to participate in the Heavenly Liturgy in endless joy.
