Nel 2022 la famiglia Saveriana negli USA ha celebrato i suoi primi 75 anni di presenza. Ebbe le sue origini in Cina, con il Confratello P. Enrico Frassinetti, il quale nel 1940, di ritorno in Italia dalla Cina (le uniche nostre fondazioni in quegli anni) passò per gli USA rimanendovi un tempo a motivo della II Guerra Mondiale.
Nel 1946 fummo accolti nell'Arcidiocesi di Boston, MA, ed esattamente a Holliston, con la priorità di raccogliere fondi per la Cina e la speranza di nuove vocazioni locali.
Recently, the Xaverian Missionaries USA commemorated the 75th anniversary of our presence in the United States. Our roots spring from China where in 1940, Fr. Henry Frassinetti came through the United States, in transit to Italy, the only two foundations that existed at that time. Ultimately, a USA foundation was laid in early 1946 with our acceptance in the Archdiocese of Boston, with the priority of fundraising for China and the possibilities for new confreres for the congregation in a time of the upheaval of war in Europe.
Since that time, we have witnessed many different transitions with the many confreres who worked and passed through our province. Recently, we transitioned from a province to a delegation, marking yet the latest of changes as we continue a journey of restructuring and reconfiguration with great hopes that began with Fr. Frassinetti, and have not waned since then.
