En tant que jeune Xavérien, j'ai un grand plaisir d'exprimer ma gratitude à notre cher Fondateur Saint Guido Maria Conforti pour la Lettre Testament qu'il a léguée à ses fils que nous sommes. Cette année, nous sommes en train de célébrer le jubilé de l'approbation des premières Constitutions et de la publication de la Lettre Testament. Cet événement m'aide à approfondir à nouveau le sens du message du Fondateur contenu dans la Lettre susmentionnée.
Dans cette découverte, je trouve la Lettre Testament comme un trésor inépuisable que je suis appelé à garder jalousement et à apprécier pour ma croissance dans cet Institut Xavérien. Cette Lettre est aussi, pour moi, un signe visible d'amour que Conforti exprime à ses fils, les membres présents et futurs de la Société (Cf. LT 10). Avec sa clairvoyance, il me fait comprendre que sa Lettre est toujours valable pour nous et pour ceux qui rejoindront l'Institut dans les années à venir.
Au cours de mes études philosophiques, je n'ai pas eu l'occasion de lire la Lettre Testament et d’en approfondir le contenu, bien que j'aie pu en voir quelques citations. Avant de lire le texte, j'ai trouvé à quel point un testament laissé par un être cher avant sa mort a un poids. En effet, un jour, alors que je lisais un journal, j'ai trouvé un article concernant le gouvernement burundais qui tentait de rapatrier la dépouille d'un roi burundais (Mwambutsa IV) décédé et enterré en Suisse où il était en exil. Le gouvernement a fait de son mieux pour convaincre la famille du roi à ce sujet. A la fin, certains membres de la famille ont donné le feu vert. Cependant, l'une des nièces du roi s'est opposée au projet en brandissant le testament du feu roi qui, avant sa mort, avait exprimé sa volonté de ne rapatrier son corps ni au Burundi ni dans aucun autre pays. Alors que le gouvernement insistait sur la décision, la nièce est allée au tribunal et a fini par gagner le procès. Le testament devait être respecté, d'autant plus que le roi l'avait laissé en pleine connaissance et conscience.
Depuis lors, j'ai saisi le sens d'un testament (dernière volonté) et combien il doit être respecté plutôt que violé. Malgré la polémique sur la dépouille dudit roi, ma culture respecte et prend en considération un testament. Si un père de famille décède sans laisser de testament, on dira qu'il est mort comme un chien ; c'est-à-dire qu'il a manqué d'assumer sa responsabilité de père. Pour éviter cela, chaque père s'efforce de laisser un mot à sa famille, surtout lorsqu'il sent la mort approcher. Connaissant la situation de sa famille, il propose aux membres des directives qui les aideront à mener leur vie dans la paix et la joie. C'est le cas de notre Fondateur, Guido Maria Conforti. C'est vraiment un père qui pensait au meilleur avenir de ses fils. De plus, sa vision prospective l'a poussé à mettre par écrit le précieux manuel sous forme de testament. Dans ce dernier, il a donné quelques directives pour que nous, ses fils, puissions toujours marcher dans la lumière du Christ et ainsi aspirer à la sainteté jour après jour.
Quand je suis allé à Kinshasa pour le Postulat, j'entendais les Novices lire la Lettre Testament pendant les Vêpres. J'ai été très attentif au contenu de cette Lettre. Au début, j'ai été abasourdi par le langage du Fondateur dans certains passages de la Lettre. Quand j'ai commencé le Noviciat, j'ai eu l'occasion de lire la Lettre en long et en large et réfléchir au message du Fondateur. Je me souviens qu'une fois, j'ai demandé à mon Maître des Novices s'il était possible de changer ou réviser la Lettre Testament. Il m'a répondu par la négative. Ce n'était pas surprenant pour moi puisque je venais de lire dans le journal susmentionné combien il est important de respecter le testament d'une personne chère. Depuis lors, je fais trésor le message du Fondateur pour ma croissance. Au fil du temps, j'ai changé ma manière de penser et j'ai trouvé que la Lettre est, dans l'ensemble, un instrument utile pour ma vie religieuse. J'étais sidéré par certains passages parce que je cherchais à les comprendre dans ma pensée sans celle du Fondateur. Au lieu de m'en tenir à ce qui est difficile à saisir, je me laisse guider par l'Esprit Saint afin de m'enrichir de la Lettre dans ma vie religieuse.
Si je regarde de près, la Lettre a été écrite par le Fondateur par amour. Avant la fondation de cette famille, un tel amour l'a poussé à vouloir que tous ceux qui rejoignent cette famille travaillent avec une ardeur de plus en plus grande à la diffusion de l'Évangile parmi les Non-Chrétiens. Cela conduirait à la formation d'une unique famille chrétienne embrassant l'humanité toute entière (Cf. LT1). Pour l'instant, je peux dire que la Lettre Testament est ma feuille de route pour accomplir cette mission qui m'a été confiée par le Seigneur et pour mener ma vie à la stature du Christ. Elle me guide vers une vie plus centrée sur Jésus Christ. De plus, je la considère comme une lampe de mes pieds dans mon cheminement vocationnel. Cela m'aide à avancer lentement mais sûrement vers l'horizon de ma vie.
Dans la Lettre, je trouve de nombreux conseils et leçons qui m'aident à rester ferme dans cette vie. Malgré les tourbillons de la vie qui soufflent ici et là et semblent parfois prendre le dessus, je m'efforce de ne pas perdre pied ni de céder à la tentation. Je prête l'oreille à Conforti qui m'encourage à me tourner vers Dieu dans la prière, à rester ferme dans ma résolution et à accroître ma fidélité à mes engagements (Cf. LT 3). Cela m'appelle à fuir le démon de la maturité qui nous pousse à rompre avec nos choix ou décisions définitifs comme s'ils étaient pris à la hâte ou tout simplement sans maturité. Je dirais que ma vie se joue dans la fidélité à la vocation première. Dans cette ligne, Conforti réitère en disant :
“dans la mesure où nous demeurerons fidèles à l'Institut auquel nous avons adhéré et que nous mettrons en pratique ses Constitutions en travaillant en son sein aux ordres de ses supérieurs, nous pourrons être sûrs de nous procurer bien des mérites, de sauver bien des âmes et de recevoir la récompense réservée à qui a mis la main à la charrue sans se retourner » (LT 3).
Ces mots me rassurent à tel point que chaque fois que je les lis et les savoure, je ressens une grande joie de me tenir toujours debout même au milieu des difficultés.
Pour clore mon partage, je voudrais exprimer à nouveau ma joie de rejoindre cette famille bien- aimée, de rencontrer un si grand Fondateur qui m'aide vraiment à avancer dans ce cheminement à travers sa Lettre Testament. Je saisis cette belle occasion pour faire appel à vous tous, mes confrères, à continuer à vous accrocher à l'enseignement du Fondateur, à profiter et à savourer l'héritage précieux qu'il nous a laissé. Vous retrouverez votre raison d'être dans cet Institut et ce qu'il faut faire pour garder fidèlement la joie de l'Évangile et la noble vocation à laquelle le Seigneur nous a appelés. Que le Seigneur continue à être connu et aimé dans le monde entier à travers notre noble mission !
My journey in the understanding of the Testament Letter
As a young Xaverian, I have great pleasure to express my gratitude to our Founder Saint Guido Maria Conforti for the Testament Letter (TL) he left to us, his sons. This year, we have been celebrating the jubilee of the approval of the first Constitutions and the publication of the TL. Such important commemoration helps me dive deeper into the meaning contained in the precious document.
In this discovery, I find the TL as an inexhaustible treasure that I am called to jealously keep and use for my growth in the Xaverian Family. I also consider it as a visible sign of the love that Conforti expresses to his sons, present and future members of the society (Cf. TL 10). With his foresight, he makes me understand that his message is still actual for us and for those who will join the Institute.
During my philosophical studies, although I could encounter some quotations, I did not have the chance to dwell on the TL of St. Guido Conforti. However even before approaching the text, I came to realize on how powerful and weighty a statement left by a loved person before his death can be.
Once while reading the newspaper, I found an article about the Burundian Government that was trying to repatriate the mortal remains of one of their former kings (Mwambutsa IV). The ruler had died in Switzerland where he was in exile.The Government tried hard to convince the king's family about the necessity to bring back the king’s remains; some relatives of the family were persuaded.
However, one of the king's nieces opposed the project. She argued that before dying the king had unequivocally declared that his body should remain in Switzerland and not to be brought back to Burundi or any other country”. Finally, the dispute was brought to the courtroom and at the end the niece won the case. The king’s will have to be kept, especially in consideration that his decision was taken in full knowledge and awareness.
This true story shows us how important the last will is and the protection granted by the law against any attempt to alter it. Despite the controversy over the Burundian king’s remains, my culture highly regards a testament and considers it binding. If a father dies without having made a will, people will say that he died like a dog; in a way he failed to meet his responsibility as a father. To keep this from happening the head of the family endeavors to prepare his final will, especially when he feels his hour is fast approaching. Knowing the situation of his family, he would give some instructions and guidelines that will help his children to live in peace and harmony.
This is the case of our Founder. He is really a father who wishes the best for his sons. His forward-looking vision pushed him to put in writing his treasured manual in the form of a will. He intended to give some directives to us his children that we may always walk in the light of Christ and so aspire to holiness day after day.
When I went to Kinshasa for my postulancy, I used to hear the novices reading the TL during the Vespers. I was listening carefully to understand the content of such a Letter. At first, I was stunned by the Founder's language in some passages of the TL.
When I myself entered to Novitiate, I finally had my chance to study the Letter and reflect on the Founder's message. I remember once I asked my novice master whether it would be possible to change or revise the TL. His answer was “No”. I was not surprised at all; as I has just shown above concerning the king’s bones, to respect a person's will is a must. Ever since I have been treasuring the message of the Founder for my growth.
As the time went by, I changed my tune and discovered that the Letter is, by and large, a useful instrument for my religious life. I used to get confused by some passages because I sought to understand them according to my thinking rather than that of the Founder. Instead of sticking to what is difficult to grasp, I let myself be guided by the Holy Spirit so as to be enriched by the Letter in my religious life. If I look closely, the Letter was written by the Founder out of his love. Before the foundation of this family, such love moved him to will for all those who would join this family to work with ever unceasing zeal for the spreading of the Gospel among non-Christians. This would lead to the formation of a single Christian family embracing all humanity (Cf. LT1).
For now, I can say that the TL is my roadmap to fulfill the mission entrusted to me by the Lord and to bring my life to the full stature of Christ. Furthermore, I consider it as a lamp of my feet in my vocational journey. Reading it is, for me, the guide towards a life more centered on Jesus. It helps me to advance slowly yet surely towards the horizon of my life. In the TL, I find much advice and lessons that help me to stand firm in my life journey. Despite the merry-go-round that blows here and there and sometimes seems to get the upper hand, I strive both not to lose my footing and not to give way to temptation.
I give ear to Conforti who encourages me to turn to God in prayer, stand firm in my resolve, and increase my fidelity to my commitments (Cf. TL 3). This calls me to shun the demon of maturity that impulses us to break up with our definitive choices or decisions as though they were taken in haste or quite plainly without maturity.
I would say that my life is played in the faithfulness of the first vocation. In this line, Conforti reiterates saying that if we
“remain faithful to the Institute to which we have given our name, observe its constitutions and work under the direction of its superiors, we will acquire much merit, save many souls and obtain the reward reserved to those who put their hand to the plough without looking back "(TL 3).
This word is so reassuring for me that every time I read and savor it, I feel great joy to unwaveringly stand tall even amid difficulties.
To close my sharing, I would like to express again my joy to be part of this loved family, encounter such a great Founder who, through his TL, really helps me to go forward.
I grasp this opportunity to appeal to all of you, my confreres, to keep on holding fast to the teaching of the Founder, to enjoy and savor the treasured legacy he left to us.
You will find again your raison d'être in this Institute and what to do in order to faithfully keep the joy of the Gospel and the noble vocation to which the Lord has called us. May the Lord continue to be known and loved all over the world through our noble mission!
Mi camino hacia la comprensión de la Carta Testamento
Como joven xaveriano, expreso mi agradecimiento a nuestro Santo Padre Fundador San Guido María Conforti por el gran legado dado a sus hijos que somos y que es la Carta Testamento. En este año celebramos el jubileo de la aprobación de las primeras Constituciones y la publicación de la Carta Testamento. Este gran acontecimiento me ayuda a profundizar en el contenido y significado del mensaje del Fundador contenido en la Carta Testamento.
Considero la Carta Testamento como un tesoro inagotable que estoy llamado a guardar celosamente y apreciar en mi crecimiento en este instituto. Esta Carta es también, para mí, un signo visible de amor que Conforti expresa para sus hijos, presentes y futuros miembros de nuestra familia (Cf. CT 10). A pesar de que la carta está cumpliendo cien años, su contenido sigue siendo de actualidad y validez para nosotros y para quienes se unirán al Instituto en los próximos años.
Durante mis estudios filosóficos, no tuve la oportunidad de familiarizarme con la Carta Testamento y profundizar en su contenido, pero sí, supe de su existencia. Antes de tener contacto con el texto de la Carta Testamento, yo ya había experimentado cuánto peso tiene el testamento de un ser querido antes de su muerte. Un día, leyendo un periódico, encontré un artículo sobre el gobierno de Burundi que intentaba repatriar los restos de un rey burundés (Mwambutsa IV) muerto y sepultado en Suiza, donde se había exiliado. El gobierno intentó de convencer a la familia del rey para que aceptara. Algunos familiares aceptaron la solicitud. Sin embargo, una de las sobrinas del rey se opuso a la iniciativa dando a conocer la voluntad del difunto rey quien, antes de su muerte, en su testamento, había expresado su voluntad de no trasladar su cuerpo ni a Burundi ni a ningún otro país. Como el gobierno insistió en la decisión, la sobrina acudió a los tribunales y terminó ganando el caso. Pues se tenía que respetar la voluntad de Mwambutsa IV expresada en su testamento.
Desde entonces, he entendido el significado de un testamento (última voluntad) y cómo debe ser respetado y no ser violado bajo ninguna circunstancia. A pesar de la polémica causado por el incidente de los restos de dicho rey, mi cultura respeta y toma en consideración un testamento. Si un padre muere sin dejar testamento, se dirá que murió como un perro; es decir, no asumió su responsabilidad como padre. Para evitar esto, cada padre se esfuerza por dejar una nota a su familia, especialmente cuando siente que se acerca la muerte. Conociendo la situación de su familia, ofrece a los miembros directivas que les ayudarán a llevar sus vidas en paz y alegría. Este es el caso de nuestro San Fundador, Guido María Conforti. Verdaderamente es un Padre responsable, que pensó en el futuro de sus hijos. Esto impulsó a nuestro Santo Padre y Fundador a redactar el precioso manual en forma de testamento. En este último, dio algunos principios para que nosotros, sus hijos, podamos caminar siempre a la luz de Cristo y así aspirar a la santidad día tras día.
Llegando a Kinshasa para el Postulantado, escuchaba con mucha atención a los Novicios leer la Carta Testamento durante las Vísperas. Al principio, me sorprendía el lenguaje del Fundador en ciertos números de la Carta. Cuando comencé el Noviciado, tuve la oportunidad de leer la Carta en su totalidad y reflexionar sobre el mensaje del Fundador. Recuerdo que una vez le pregunté a mi maestro de novicios si era posible cambiar o revisar la Carta Testamento. Él dio una respuesta negativa. Esto no me sorprendió, puesto que yo acababa de leer en el periódico, como lo he mencionado anteriormente, lo importante que es mantener la voluntad de un ser querido. Desde entonces, considero el mensaje del Fundador como un tesoro para mi crecimiento. Con el tiempo, he cambiado mi pensar y he encontrado que la Carta es, en general, una herramienta útil para mi vida religiosa. Me quedé petrificado ante ciertos pasajes de la Carta que yo trataba de entender según mi lógica, pero sin tomar en cuenta la idea original del Fundador. En vez de detenerme en aquello que me era difícil de entender, me he dejado guiar por el Espíritu Santo para enriquecerme por la Carta en mi vida religiosa.
Si leo con atención, la Carta fue escrita por el Fundador con un gran amor. Incluso antes de la fundación de esta familia, ese amor le llevó a querer que todos los que formaran parte de esta familia trabajasen con un celo siempre mayor en la difusión del Evangelio. Esto conduciría a la formación de una única familia cristiana que abrace a toda la humanidad (Cf. CT1). Por ahora, puedo decir que la Carta Testamento es mi “plan de vuelo” para cumplir esta misión que me ha confiado el Señor y para conformar mi vida a la altura de Cristo. Ella me guía hacia una vida más centrada en Jesucristo. Además, la considero una lámpara para mis pies en la vivencia de mi vocación. Me ayuda a moverme lento pero seguro hacia el horizonte de mi vida.
En la Carta encuentro muchos consejos y lecciones que me ayudan a mantenerme firme en esta vida. A pesar de las turbulencias de la vida que soplan aquí y allá y que a veces parecen apoderarse de mí, trato de no perder el equilibrio ni ceder a la tentación. Escucho a Conforti que me anima a tornarme hacia Dios en la oración, a mantenerme firme en mis motivaciones y a engrandecer mi fidelidad en mis compromisos (Cf. CT 3). Me llama a huir del demonio que nos incita a romper con nuestras opciones o decisiones definitivas como si ellas hubieran sido tomadas a toda prisa o simplemente de manera inmadura. Yo creo que mi vida se juega en la fidelidad a la primera llamada. En esta línea, Conforti reitera diciendo:
“Y si permanecemos fieles al Instituto al que hemos dado nuestro nombre, si observamos las Constituciones y trabajamos bajo las directrices de nuestros Superiores, podremos estar seguros de acumular copiosos méritos, salvar muchas almas y alcanzar el premio reservado al que pone la mano al arado y no vuelve la vista atrás” (CT 3).
Estas palabras me tranquilizan tanto que cada vez que las leo, las disfruto y siento una gran alegría de mantenerme siempre al pie del cañón, incluso en medio de las dificultades.
En modo de conclusión, me gustaría expresar una vez más mi alegría por ser parte de esta querida familia, con un gran y Santo Fundador que realmente me ayuda a seguir adelante en mi caminar como consagrado a través de su Carta Testamento. Aprovecho esta gran oportunidad para lanzar una invitación a todos ustedes, mis compañeros, para que sigamos aferrándonos a la enseñanza del Fundador, para aprovechar y saborear la preciosa herencia que nos dejó. Ustedes encontraran su razón de ser en este Instituto y aquello que hay que hacer para guardar fielmente la alegría del Evangelio y la noble vocación a la que el Señor nos ha llamado.
¡Que el Señor siga siendo conocido y amado en todo el mundo a través de nuestra noble misión!
Il mio cammino nella comprensione della Lettera Testamento
Come giovane Saveriano, provo un grande piacere nell’esprimere la mia gratitudine al nostro caro Fondatore San Guido Maria Conforti per la Lettera Testamento che ha lasciato a noi, suoi figli. Quest’anno stiamo celebrando il giubileo dell’approvazione delle prime Costituzioni e della pubblicazione della Lettera Testamento. Questo evento mi aiuta ad approfondire di più il senso del messaggio del Fondatore contenuto in questa Lettera.
In questa scoperta, constato che la Lettera Testamento è simile a un tesoro inesauribile che sono chiamato a custodire gelosamente e ad apprezzare per la mia crescita nell’Istituto Saveriano. Per me, questa Lettera è anche un segno visibile dell’amore che Conforti esprime verso i suoi figli, membri presenti e futuri della Pia Società (cfr. LT 10). Con la sua lungimiranza, mi fa capire che la sua Lettera è sempre valida sia per noi che per quelli che raggiungeranno l’Istituto negli anni futuri.
Durante i miei studi di filosofia non ho avuto l’occasione di leggere la Lettera Testamento e di approfondirne il contenuto (sebbene abbia potuto vederne qualche citazione). Prima di leggere il testo, ho constatato fino a che punto un testamento, lasciato da un essere caro prima della propria morte, abbia un peso notevole. Infatti, un giorno, mentre leggevo un giornale, ho trovato un articolo riguardante il governo burundese che cercava di rimpatriare la salma di un re burundese (Mwambutsa IV) morto e sepolto in Svizzera, sua terra d’esilio. Il governo ha fatto del suo meglio per convincere la famiglia del re ad accettare il progetto. Infine, alcuni membri della famiglia hanno dato la loro approvazione. Tuttavia, una delle nipoti del re si è opposta al progetto impugnando il testamento del defunto re il quale, prima della sua morte, aveva espresso la volontà che il suo corpo non fosse rimpatriato né in Burundi né in qualche altro paese. Mentre il governo insisteva sulla decisione della famiglia, la nipote è andata in tribunale e ha vinto il processo. Il testamento doveva essere rispettato in quanto il re l’aveva fatto in piena conoscenza e coscienza.
Da allora ho intuito il senso di un testamento (ultime volontà) e fino a che punto non debba essere trasgredito, ma rispettato. Nonostante la polemica sulla salma di quel re, la mia cultura rispetta e prende in considerazione un testamento. Se un padre di famiglia muore senza lasciare un testamento, si dirà che è morto come un cane, cioè che ha evitato di assumere la sua responsabilità di padre. Per scongiurare questo, ogni padre si sforza di lasciare un messaggio alla sua famiglia, soprattutto quando sente che la morte si sta avvicinando. Conoscendo la situazione della sua famiglia, propone ai vari parenti degli orientamenti che li aiuteranno a vivere nella pace e nella gioia. É il caso del nostro Fondatore, Guido Maria Conforti, che è veramente un padre che pensa al miglior futuro per i suoi figli. Inoltre, la sua visione lungimirante lo ha spinto a scrivere il prezioso manuale sotto forma di un testamento. In questo testo, Conforti ha dato delle indicazioni affinché i suoi figli possano sempre camminare nella luce del Cristo e, così, aspirare alla santità giorno dopo giorno.
Quando sono andato a Kinshasa per il Postulato, sentivo i novizi leggere la Lettera Testamento durante i Vespri. Sono stato molto attento al contenuto di questa Lettera. All’inizio, sono rimasto sconcertato dal linguaggio del Fondatore in certi passaggi della Lettera. Quando ho incominciato il Noviziato, ho avuto l’occasione di leggere la Lettera in lungo e in largo e di riflettere sul messaggio del Fondatore. Mi ricordo che, un giorno, ho chiesto al maestro dei novizi se era possibile cambiare o ritoccare la Lettera Testamento. Mi ha risposto negativamente. La risposta non mi ha sorpreso in quanto, poco prima, avevo letto nel giornale di cui sopra quanto sia importante rispettare il testamento di una persona cara. Da allora faccio tesoro del messaggio del Fondatore per la mia crescita.
Nel tempo, ho cambiato la mia maniera di pensare e ho trovato che la Lettera, nel suo insieme, è uno strumento utile per la mia vita religiosa. Ero sconcertato da alcuni passaggi perché cercavo di capirli secondo la mia mentalità e non quella del Fondatore. Invece di bloccarmi su quello che è difficile da capire, mi sono lasciato guidare dallo Spirito Santo affinché la Lettera arricchisca la mia vita religiosa. Se guardo da vicino, la Lettera è stata scritta dal Fondatore per amore. Prima della fondazione di questa famiglia, questo amore lo ha spinto a volere che tutti quelli che raggiungono questa famiglia lavorino con uno zelo sempre più grande alla diffusione del Vangelo tra i non-cristiani. Questo porterebbe alla formazione di una sola famiglia cristiana che abbraccia l’umanità (cfr. LT 1). Attualmente, posso dire che la Lettera Testamento è la mia piattaforma per svolgere quella missione che il Signore mi ha dato e per condurre la mia vita alla statura perfetta di Cristo. La Lettera mi guida verso una vita maggiormente centrata su Gesù Cristo. Inoltre, la considero come una lampada ai miei passi nel mio cammino vocazionale. Tutto questo mi aiuta ad avanzare lentamente, ma sicuramente, verso l’orizzonte della mia vita.
Nella Lettera, trovo molti consigli e insegnamenti che mi aiutano a restare saldo nella vita. Nonostante le tempeste che agitano la vita e sembrano qualche volta prendere il sopravvento, mi sforzo di non scoraggiarmi e di non cedere alla tentazione. Presto l’orecchio a Conforti che mi incoraggia a orientarmi verso Dio nella preghiera, a restare saldo nei propositi e ad aumentare la fedeltà ai miei impegni (cfr. LT 3). Questo mi invita a fuggire il demone della maturità che ci spinge a rinnegare le nostre scelte e decisioni definitive come se fossero state prese in tutta fretta o, semplicemente, senza maturità. Direi che la mia vita si gioca nella fedeltà alla prima vocazione. In questa linea, Conforti ribadisce che:
“se noi resteremo fedeli all’Istituto al quale abbiamo dato il nome, ne osserveremo le Costituzioni e lavoreremo in esso agli ordini di chi ci è Superiore, potremo star sicuri di accumulare molti meriti, salvare molte anime e conseguire il premio riservato a chi avrà posto mano all’aratro senza volgersi indietro” (LT 3).
Queste parole mi rassicurano a tal punto che, ogni volta che le leggo e le assaporo, sento una grande gioia che mi permette di restare sempre in piedi, anche in mezzo alle difficoltà.
Nel concludere la mia condivisione, vorrei esprimere ancora la mia gioia di raggiungere questa famiglia beneamata, di incontrare un Fondatore così grande che, tramite la sua Lettera Testamento, mi aiuta veramente ad avanzare in questo cammino. Colgo questa bella occasione per esortare ciascuno di voi, cari confratelli, a continuare ad aggrapparvi all’insegnamento del Fondatore, di usufruire e di gustare della preziosa eredità che ci ha lasciato. Ritroverete la vostra ragione di essere in questo Istituto e quello che occorre per custodire fedelmente la gioia del Vangelo e la nobile vocazione alla quale il Signore ci ha chiamato. Che il Signore sia conosciuto ed amato nel mondo intero attraverso la nostra nobile missione!
