Our specific path to holiness is summed up in the formula given to us by bishop Conforti: “the apostolic life, combined with the profession of the religious vows, is in itself the most perfect life possible according to the Gospel” (TL 2), in other words, in our belonging entirely to God and the mission. … Bishop Conforti wanted this for us because he considered the consecrated life as a privileged path to holiness and therefore to the mission, convinced of what Pope John Paul II would later say, namely: “the true missionary is the saint”. “A missionary is really such only if he commits himself to the way of holiness” (RMi. 90).
