Il nostro confratello p. Paulin Batairwa Kubuya, Sottosegretario del Dicastero per il Dialogo Interreligioso, ha accompagnato il Prefetto del suddetto Dicastero alla partecipazione, nei giorni 6-7 novembre 2023, nel Summit dei leader religiosi pre-COP, tenutosi ad Abu Dhabi (Emirati Arabi Uniti) .  Un evento in cui hanno preso parte oltre 120 leader religiosi in rappresentanza di 30 organizzazioni religiose, tutti delegati del Programma ambientale delle Nazioni Unite, dell'Organizzazione Musulmana Consiglio degli Anziani e altri gruppi per la cura del creato di tutto il mondo.

L'obiettivo del vertice consisteva nell' "unire i leader religiosi per la rinascita planetaria", per formulare - come leader religiosi - proposte concrete per la prossima COP 28 (COP è l'acronimo di Conference of Parties, la riunione annuale dei Paesi che hanno ratificato la Convenzione Quadro delle Nazioni Unite sui Cambiamenti Climatici - United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, UNFCCC, ndr), che si terrà a Dubai dal 30 novembre al 12 dicembre 2023 . È già stata ufficialmente confermata anche la partecipazione di papa Francesco per i primi giorni di dicembre 2023. 

Scriveva alla comunità di viale Vaticano 40 p. Paulin mentre si trovava ad Abu Dhabi: “Il soggiorno ad Abu Dhabi è stato interessante e coinvolgente. Tuttavia, credo che il frutto più bello di questo viaggio sia la consapevolezza dell’esistenza di una vivace comunità cattolica in Arabia Saudita… Ho visitato il luogo chiamato ‘Famiglia Abramitica’, dono del Grande Imam, dove è stata eretta una chiesa.  È stato un imam musulmano a presentare alla nostra delegazione la bellezza di quei luoghi, e l'armonia creata dal rispetto reciproco delle differenze delle tre fedi…”

Dal 13 al 16 novembre 2023, p. Paulin Batairwa Kubuya, insieme al Prefetto del Dicastero, ha preso parte anche al 7° Colloquium Buddista-Cristiano (“Seventh Buddhist-Christian Colloquium”) tenutosi a Bangkok (Tailandia).

Our confrere, Fr. Paulin Batairwa Kubuya, Undersecretary of the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue, has recently accompanied the Prefect of said Dicastery to participate, on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 6^th and 7^th, 2023, in the pre-COP Summit of Religious Leader that was held in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates). The event was attended by more than 120 religious leaders representing 30 religious organisations, all the delegates of the UN Environment Programme, of the Muslim Council of the Elders, and other groups for the care of creation from all over the world.

Aims of the summit were “to unite religious leaders for the planet rebirth”, formulate - as religious leaders – concrete and inspiring proposals for the next COP 28 (acronym for Conference of Parties, i.e., the yearly meeting of the countries that ratified the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change – ed.) to be held in Dubai from November 30^th to December 12^th, 2023. Pope Francis’ participation in the early days of December 2023 has already been officially confirmed.

While in Abu Dhabi, Fr. Paulin wrote to the community of Viale Vaticano 40: “The sojourn in Abu Dhabi has been interesting and engaging. Nonetheless, I believe that the most beautiful fruit of this trip is to become aware of the presence in Saudi Arabia of a lively Catholic community… I visited a place called ‘Abrahamic Family House’, gift of the Great Imam, where a church has been erected. A Muslim imam was the one who introduced our delegation to the beauty of those places, and the harmony created by mutual respect for the differences among the three faiths…”

From November 13^th to 16^th, 2023, Fr. Paulin Batairwa Kubuya, along with the Prefect of the Dicastery, took part in the Seventh Buddhist-Christian Colloquium held in Bangkok (Thailand).
