Dall'8 al 12 marzo 2021, si è svolto - online - a causa della pandemia il IX incontro CEMLA (CENTRO DE ESTUDIOS MISIONEROS LATINO-AMERICANO). Il tema dell’incontro è stato: “Missão entre esperanças, incertezas e oportunidades” (“Missione fra speranze, incertezze e opportunità”).

Dal Brasile Sud erano presenti Rafael López Villaseñor sx, Estêvão Raschietti sx e la Missionaria di Maria-Saveriana Elisabete Miguel Espinhara mmx; dal Brasile Nord, Francisco Xavier Martínez Rodrigo sx, Pedro Saúl Ruiz Álvarez sx e la Missionaria di Maria-Saveriana Tea Frigerio mmx; dal Messico hanno partecipato Gerardo Custodio López sx, la Missionaria di Maria-Saveriana Elisa Silva mmx e Jorge Alvarado.

Durante l'incontro sono stati presentati e discussi i testi preparati durante l'anno 2020. Gli articoli affrontano vari ambiti: il tema del fondamentalismo, il negazionismo e il rapporto fra religione e politica nelle circostanze emergenti dell'America Latina. È stata, poi, affrontata anche la questione del genere, a partire da prospettive bibliche, storiche e pastorali sul ruolo della donna in un mondo fortemente segnato da un patriarcato integralista.

Al mattino, i partecipanti hanno dedicato il tempo alla lettura personale degli elaborati scritti, mentre al pomeriggio - online - c’è stata la messa in comune e la valutazione. Il prossimo CEMLA si svolgerà dal 7-11 marzo 2022, a Mazatlán (Messico), nella speranza che per quella data la campagna di vaccinazione sarà a buon punto e se la situazione pandemica lo consentirà. Il tema per il prossimo incontro sarà “Missione e sinodalità”, nella prospettiva decoloniale che caratterizza la nozione e la pratica della missione dall'America Latina. From March 8^th – to March 12^th – 2021, the 9^th CEMLA (CENTRO DE ESTUDIOS MISIONEROS LATINO-AMERICANO) meeting took place online, due to the pandemic. The theme of the Meeting was: “Missão entre esperanças, incertezas e oportunidades” (Mission between hopes, uncertainties and opportunities”).  From Southern Brazil, were present Frs. Rafael López Villaseñor, s.x., Estêvão Raschietti, s.x. and the Xaverian Missionary Sister Elisabete Miguel Spinhara mmx. From North Brazil, Fr. Francisco Xavier Martínez Rodrigo, s.x.; Fr. Pedro Saúl Ruiz Álvarez, s.x., and the Xaverian Missionary Sister Tea Frigerio, mmx. From Mexico participated Fr. Gerardo Custodio Lopex, s.x., the Xaverian missionary Sister Elisa Silva mmx and Mr. Jorge Alvarado. During the Meeting, the texts prepared during the year 2020, were presented and discussed. The articles address various areas: the theme of fundamentalism, denialism, and the relationship between religion and politics in the emerging circumstances of Latin America. The issue of gender was also addressed, starting from the biblical, historical and pastoral perspectives on the role of women in a world strongly marked by a fundamentalist patriarchy.

In the morning, participants devoted time to the personal reading of the written papers, while, in the afternoon – online – there was a pooling of ideas and evaluation. The next CEMLA Meeting will take place from March 7^th - 11^th, 2022, in Mazatlán (Mexico), if the pandemic situation will allow and hoping that, by that date, the vaccination campaign will be well underway.
