La risonanza di questa settimana è scritta da Paola (pseudonimo), un’altra figlia spirituale del primo vescovo saveriano nell’Impero di Mezzo, e porta un titolo dal sapore tutto paolino: “Siano rese grazie a Dio”. Con appassionante finezza e coinvolgente gratitudine, Paola scrive: In queste pagine (Lettera Testamento, ndr), ho percepito la gratitudine e la gioia del Conforti di fronte all’approvazione delle Costituzioni, e come con questa gioia in cuore, incoraggia e istruisce i suoi figli a seguire Gesù senza esitazione. Protetti e benedetti dalle Costituzioni, incoraggia a vivere la consacrazione come testimonianza dell'amore infinito e generoso di Dio. C’è stato un tempo nel quale anche noi (suore di San Giuseppe) abbiamo provato i suoi stessi sentimenti ed è stato quando abbiamo appreso che le nostre regole (Costituzioni) erano state approvate dalla Chiesa. In quella occasione eravamo anche noi piene di gioia, perché sentivamo che la nostra congregazione era stata accettata, affermata e sostenuta dalla Chiesa. L’approvazione ricevuta ha anche aumentato il mio senso di appartenenza alla congregazione….

With finesse and engaging gratitude, Paola writes: “In these pages [of the Testament Letter] I perceived Conforti’s gratitude and joy as he received the approval of the Constitutions, and how with that joy in his heart he encourages his children to follow Jesus without any hesitation. As they are now protected and blessed by the gift of the Constitutions, he encourages them to live their consecration and to witness God’s infinite and generous love. There was a time when we too (Nuns of St. Joseph) had the same feelings. It was when we came to know that our rules (Constitutions) had been approved by the Church. On that occasion we too were pleased because we felt that our Congregation had been accepted, confirmed, and approved by the Church. The approval by the Church also increased my sense of belonging to my Congregation”.
