THE PERSONAL LIFE PROJECT WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO THE PROJECT OF GUIDO MARIA CONFORTI

For some time now, our Xaverian documents have been referring to the Personal Life Project. The Ratio Missionis Xaveriana, in discussing the Community Life Project, points out that: the Personal Life Project will help each individual to be faithful to the Community Life Project (RMX 36.1).

The Xaverian Spirituality Meeting (Tavernerio 2006) emphasized the importance of the Personal Life Project, and the assistance of a Spiritual Director, in each Xaverian’s commitment to live out his own specific spirituality through the following recommendations: “Spiritual aggiornamento: Personal Life Project; give time to God; the habit of reflection; daily study of the Word of God (faithfully prayed in the Liturgy of the Hours and celebrated in the Eucharist); take advantage of the counsel of wise people and a Spiritual Director” (Acts of the Xaverian Spirituality Meeting 2006, p. 198).

In the year 2000 , the Quaderno di formazione no. 6 on the Personal Life Project was prepared for the Xaverian formators.

I was inspired to study the meaning of the Personal Life Project in our formation journey (it is not just a matter of initial formation!) by the example of our Father and Founder, who had a written personal project throughout his life...
