Carissimi Confratelli,
a tutti voi giungano gli Auguri di Buona Pasqua.
La celebrazione annuale del mistero della morte e resurrezione del Signore è fonte di grazia, di luce e di vita nuova. Così sia per tutta la nostra Famiglia.
I catecumeni che riceveranno i Sacramenti della Iniziazione cristiana, i fedeli che si accosteranno al Sacramento della Penitenza, le Comunità cristiane che si raccoglieranno nella celebrazione del Triduo Pasquale, divengano testimoni che Gesù è Via Verità e Vita e che in Lui c’è la Salvezza.
Chiedo che ogni nostra Comunità viva la Pasqua del 2015 tenendo presente quanto segue:
Rinnoviamo la nostra Consacrazione al Signore. l’Anno della Vita Consacrata si trasformi, giorno dopo giorno, in tempo di rinascita e di conversione. Anche la nostra Famiglia ha grande bisogno di rinnovarsi, di ripartire, di ristrutturarsi, di riposizionarsi. Riprendiamo la riflessione sui Documenti del XVI Capitolo Generale e sul cammino che essi ci propongono. Ci sarà di aiuto anche la Lettera della Direzione Generale (iSaveriani 80).
Consideriamo attentamente le parole e gli esempi del nostro Fondatore, del quale stiamo celebrando il 150° Anniversario della nascita. Egli è modello del Saveriano e la sua santità è stimolo per essere santi come lui fu capace di divenirlo. Nell’apostolato, nella vita comune, nella disponibilità a donarci interamente per la missione, consiste la nostra santità. L’esempio del Fondatore ci faccia ritrovare la strada della vera libertà, che è quella del cuore, tutto donato solo a Cristo. Il Fondatore fu un discepolo coraggioso: del medesimo coraggio necessita tutta la nostra Congregazione (iSaveriani 88).
Preghiamo per le Chiese cristiane perseguitate. È grande il dolore che provoca la persecuzione continua e feroce contro le comunità cristiane. Tale persecuzione è incomprensibile oggi, come sempre. Quale umana ragione può spiegare una tale violenza? Anche la nostra missione deve aiutare ad eliminare le persecuzioni e a riportare alla ragione questi fatti orribili e inspiegabili.
Ricordiamo i giovani senza lavoro e le famiglie in grave difficoltà. Sono molte e pesanti le preoccupazioni che gravano su molti giovani e molte famiglie. La mancanza di lavoro, la diseguale distribuzione dei beni e del denaro, creano un grave malcontento, che può divenire pericoloso. Noi che cosa possiamo fare? Solo una sincera sensibilità e una vita sobria ci permetteranno di comprendere ed essere vicini a tutti coloro che per questo stanno soffrendo.
Buona Pasqua anche ai Laici Saveriani, agli Amici dei Missionari Saveriani, ai Benemeriti e a tutte le nostre famiglie naturali: il Signore Risorto le colmi di Grazie.
Buona Pasqua alle Sorelle Saveriane e alle Suore di S. Giuseppe di ChengChow: il Risorto doni loro salute, soddisfazioni apostoliche e tante vocazioni.
Grazie a tutti voi, confratelli, che portate l’annuncio del Signore Risorto ovunque siete presenti, sia i sani che i malati, sia i giovani che gli anziani.

Best wishes to all for a very Happy Easter!
The annual celebration of the mystery of the Lord’s death and resurrection is a source of grace, light and new life. May it be so for our entire Family.
May the catechumens who will receive the Sacraments of Christian initiation, the faithful who will approach the Sacrament of Penance and the Christian communities that will gather for the celebration of the Easter Triduum all become witnesses to the reality that Jesus is the Way, Truth and Life and that salvation can be found in Him.
I ask every Xaverian community to celebrate Easter 2015 bearing in mind the following:
Let us renew our Consecration to the Lord. May the Year of the Consecrated Life become a daily experience of rebirth and conversion. Our Family too has a great need of renewal, a new beginning and a restructuring. Let us take up once again the reflections contained in the XVI General Chapter Documents and consider the path of growth that they propose to us. We can also be helped in this by the Letter of the General Direction (iSaveriani 80).
Let us carefully ponder the words and example of our Founder, whose 150th anniversary of birth we are celebrating. He is the model for every Xaverian and his holiness inspires us to become saints just as he did. Our holiness consists of the apostolate, the common life and the availability to give ourselves entirely for the mission. May the Founder’s example make us rediscover the path to true freedom, which is the freedom of the heart, entirely given solely to Christ. The Founder was a courageous disciple: our entire Congregation needs the same courage (iSaveriani 88).
Let us pray for the persecuted Christian communities. The ongoing and ferocious persecution of Christian communities is a source of great suffering. This persecution is incomprehensible today, as ever. What human reason can possibly explain such violence? Our mission too must help to eliminate persecutions and restore these horrible and unexplainable realities to reason.
Let us remember unemployed young people and families in serious difficulty. Many young people and families are afflicted by many serious concerns. The lack of work, the unequal distribution of wealth and resources, create a serious discontent that can become dangerous. What can we do? Only a sincere sensitivity and moderate lifestyle can enable us to understand and be near to all those who are suffering because of these difficulties.
Happy Easter to the Lay Xaverians, the friends of the Xaverian Missionaries, the lay Associates and all our own families: may the Risen Lord fill them with his abundant Grace.
Happy Easter to the Xaverian Sisters, the Sisters of St. Joseph in Chengchow: may the Risen Lord grant them health, apostolic satisfaction and many vocations.
Thanks to all of you, our confreres, who announce the Good News of the Risen Lord wherever you are living and working, to the healthy and the sick, the young and the elderly.
