Venerdì 3 novembre 2023 , nella parrocchia di St. Mary, a Coatbridge, la comunità Saveriana del Regno Unito si è riunita con familiari, amici, ex apostolini della casa apostolica e benefattori per celebrare 75 anni di presenza missionaria. L'Eucaristia è stata celebrata da Mons. Joseph Toal, Vescovo della diocesi di Motherwell.  Presente anche l'Arcivescovo William Nolan dell'Arcidiocesi di Glasgow, insieme a sacerdoti di varie diocesi e altri preti e suore religiosi. P. Eugenio Montesi sx ci ha raccontato la storia dei vari Saveriani che hanno lavorato nel Regno Unito nel corso degli anni.

Al termine dell'Eucaristia abbiamo invitato tutti i presenti al Centro Conforti per condividere le loro storie e ricordi di questi 75 anni di presenza saveriana.

Domenica 5 novembre 2023, nella parrocchia di St. Brigid a Newmains, vari membri della comunità saveriana nel Regno Unito si sono riuniti con familiari, amici, ex apostolini della Casa Apostolica e benefattori per celebrare il Giubileo d’argento dell’ordinazione presbiterale di p. Patrick Duffy sx. L'Eucaristia è stata presieduta dal festeggiato, p. Patrick. È stata anche una bella occasione per celebrare la festa del nostro Fondatore. Al termine dell'Eucaristia, abbiamo invitato tutti i presenti al Centro parrocchiale a condividere le memorie degli ultimi 25 anni.

È stato un bel fine settimana di feste per la Comunità Saveriana del Regno Unito. Abbiamo avuto la fortuna di avere tra di noi amici e benefattori che sostengono il nostro sogno missionario per “fare del mondo un’unica famiglia!” (I confratelli della Circoscrizione del Regno Unito)

November 3^rd – in St. Mary’s Parish, Coatbridge, the Xaverian community in the United Kingdom gathered with family, friends, former students of the Junior Seminary and benefactors to celebrate 75 years of missionary presence. The Eucharist was celebrated by Bishop Joseph Toal, Bishop of Motherwell Diocese and Archbishop William Nolan from the Archdiocese of Glasgow was also present along with priests from various diocese and other religious priests and sisters. Fr. Eugenio Montesi, sx told us of the various Xaverian who served in the Region over the years. 

After the Eucharist finished, we invited all present back to the Conforti Centre to share their stories and memories of 75 years of Xaverian presence.

November 5^th – in St. Brigid’s Parish Newmains, various members of the Xaverian community in the United Kingdom gathered with family, friends, former students of the Junior Seminary and benefactors to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of Ordination of Fr. Patrick Duffy sx. The Eucharist was presided over by Fr. Patrick. It was also a great occasion to celebrate Our Founder’s Day. After the Eucharist finished, we invited all present back to the Parish Centre to share their stories and memories of the past 25 years.

It was a good weekend of celebrations for the Xaverian Community in The United Kingdom. We have been blessed with friends and benefactors who support our missionary dream of “making the world a single family!” (The confreres of the UK Xaverian circumscription)
